Migrations
The web hosting market is saturated and is being consolidated. Larger parties are forming which take over smaller parties, power of scale requires that customer bases are joined.
Get relevant data and automate
No two hosters are the same, no two platforms are the same. Migrating data from one hoster to the new hoster is always a bespoke activity, almost always exceeding budget and schedule.
Sound familiar? Sitekick is primarily used for web site data for marketing, analysis, customer journeys, support and assistance. However, Sitekick can also deliver massive amounts of useful data and the simple Sitekick connector setup enables quick and easy connection to any system. Sitekick has been used for migration support, with surprising ease, accuracy and low cost.
Complete Data
All the source data you need, recent and in one place.
Click Robots
Sources without data connections can be connected using click robots.
Plays Nice
Connects to any system, out of the box or using a dedicated connector.
Complete Data
A migration means fitting data, processes and hidden assumptions from one company to another company.
A migration is an iterative process of fitting a square peg in a round hole. It has proven impossible to make an exhaustive list of data sources and elements before a migration starts. During a migration new data sources and requirements keep popping up, making the whole process more complicated as you go.
Not all data sources can be accessed easily, or their data format is exotic. Sitekick has a large number of standard connectors to source systems, a new standard or bespoke connector can be easily configured for any new data source.
Click Robots
Not all source or destination systems have the possibility for downloading or uploading data or operation using command line tools or an API.
As a last resort, you can operate a source or target system using our click robots. Most legacy systems are not intended for any automatic connection and rely solely on human operation. Click robots can be used to extract data from a manual-only source system, enter it in a destination system or perform a mundane task like manually accepting terms of use for 20.000 customers.
Although deploying a click robot is brittle, the Sitekick-platform is designed for brittleness. Connecting to our multitude of sources, many things can go wrong. Our platform is designed for monitoring, retrying and repairing connectors. A click robot is deployed as a standard connector and automatically has the Sitekick features of monitoring, retrying and scalability.
Plays Nice
A migration is about a multitude of source and destination systems and connection methods.
When performing a migration, prepare for the unexpected. It is therefore best to have a platform with connectors and tooling which is designed for connecting to any system, agnostic to technical assumptions.
